Club Info > IGC Dress Code

Between Labor Day and April 30th , those choosing to wear *appropriate denim would be required to enter and exit through the Co-Ed entrance.  The Mixed Grill, Dining Room, Terrace, and McIntosh Room remain off limits to denim, unless otherwise specified by management.  Further, denim is not allowed on the golf course or driving range.

*Appropriate denim is defined as worn with appropriate cut, in excellent repair, without holes or tattering.  Inappropriate denim is defined as denim worn or cut lower than waist level, baring midriffs or is tattered, frayed, patched, or otherwise in disrepair.  Inappropriate denim includes work-type denim - bibs, painter’s pants, cargo pants, and cutoffs.

Between May 1st and Labor Day, the minimum dress requirement for the entire Club property is standard golf attire for gentlemen and ladies. Inverness Golf Club follows a strict “No Denim” policy for Men, Women and Children that include slacks, skirts, shorts, jackets and dresses with the only exception given to special advertised occasions.

Guests must also adhere to these dress requirements. Guests who do not have proper attire are not allowed on Club premises.

Men: Slacks or knee length shorts and golf shirts with collars. No short shorts, collarless tee shirts or cargo shorts and pants. Shirts must be tucked in at all times with the exception of a dress shirt designed to be worn out with a straight, finished bottom hem. No shirt may be left un-tucked on the Golf Course.

Ladies: Attire should be consistent with accepted standards of propriety and good taste. This would include appropriate length golf skirts, shorts or slacks with golfing blouses.

Spikeless Shoes - All Members, their families and their guests must wear spikeless golf shoes. Arrangements may be made with the locker room attendant to change spiked shoes.

Hats and caps are not permitted to be worn by men or boys in the dining areas (other than the Member’s Grill and the Bar area). No hats or caps may be worn anywhere in the clubhouse after 6:00pm.

Jackets are strongly recommended for gentlemen at the evening meal.

Members will be notified of any violation of the dress code. The Board of Directors will take corrective action when necessary to insure adherence to the Club’s policies on the dress code.
